Deep Fried Mushrooms |

| 2 C. Flour or Breadcrumbs or 1/2 and 1/2 mixed | 1 1/2 tsp. Salt |
| 1 tsp Ground Pepper | 1/2 tsp Baking Powder |
| 1 C Buttermilk | Vegetable Oil |
| 8 oz Fresh Mushrooms, washed, dried, and stems removed (optional) | |
Heat oil at 375. Place buttermilk in bowl, set aside. Mix flour or breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and baking powder in separate bowl. Coat mushrooms with flour mixture, dip mushrooms in buttermilk, and finally coat mushrooms with flour mixture again. Place mushrooms in hot oil and do not over crowd the fryer. Use a fork to "flip" mushrooms about halfway through cooking time.
