Preheat oven to 425. Peel apples and cut into 1/8's.
In a large bowl combine apples, 1/2 c sugar , 2 Tbl flour, nutmeg and cinnamon.
Toss mixture to coat well.
Pour into pie shell and drizzle lemon juice over the top.
Mix all remaining ingredients and sprinkle over apple mixture.
Slip pie into a large paper bag that has not been recycled (check bag for recycled symbol on bottom) and fold open end over twice.
Close with paper clips and lay on a baking sheet.
Bake for 1 hour.
Cut bag open and cool on a rack.
*Note: If using an electric oven make sure bag does not come in contact with the heating element. |
