Banana Split Ice Cream Pie
Crust
   
20 Oreo Cookies, finely crushed 1/4 cup of butter or margarine, melted
   

Preheat oven to 350.

Mix cookies and butter well.

Press evenly into the bottom and sides of a 9 inch pie plate.

Bake 5 minutes.

Cool completely before filling.

   
Pie Filling
   
2 firm but not overly ripe medium size Bananas 1 pint Strawberry Ice Cream, softened
1 pint Vanilla Ice Cream Softened 1 c Whipping Cream (not whipped cream)
1 - 20oz can Crushed Pineapple, drained Maraschino Cherries (*optional)
1/4 c Chopped Peanuts or Slivered Almonds Hershey's Syrup
   

Slice Bananas and arrange over bottom of prepared crust.

Spread softened Vanilla Ice Cream in an even layer over bananas

Top with more sliced bananas

Spread softened Strawberry Ice Cream in an even layer over bananas

Top with Pineapple

Whip the Whipping Cream until it holds stiff peaks

Spread over Pineapple

Sprinkle Nuts over Whipped Cream and press lightly to prevent spilling

Freeze Pie for 4 hours or until firm

Remove from freezer about 25 - 30 minutes before serving

Slice pie and drizzle Hershey's Syrup over Whipped Cream and Nuts

Garnish with Cherries and serve

Freeze any leftover pie immediately.

   

*Notes:

  • Once this pie freezes it is very hard to cut, you may want to pre-slice it half way through freezing time to make it easier to cut and serve later.
  • You may want to add a little dollop of whipped cream to hold the cherry in place before serving.
  • You can use a prepared Oreo Pie Crust. Brush the crust with melted butter, bake at 350 and cool completely.
