San Francisco Style Sourdough Bread
     
1 Pound Loaf
Ingredients:
1 1/2 Pound Loaf
     
  3/4 cup
1/4 cup
2 cup
2 tsp
1/2 tsp
1 tsp
sourdough starter
milk
bread flour
sugar
salt
yeast
1 1/4 cup
1/4 cup
3 cup
1 Tbl
3/4 tsp
1 1/4 tsp
 
     
Place ingredients in Bread Pan in the order given above and bake on French Bread setting.
     

For rolls, set machine to Dough Cycle.

Once the cycle completes leave dough in pan for 1 hour.

Punch Dough down and place in a greased bowl, turn over to grease the other side.

Cover tightly and place in refrigerator a minimum of 2 1/2 hours, punching dough down again occasionally.

Roll dough into palm sized balls and dip in melted butter to coat.

Place in a baking pan, cover with a clean dishtowel and allow to rise in a warm draft free area until doubled in size.

Preheat oven to 400 and bake 15 - 20 minutes or until golden. Brush with more melted butter if desired.
