Dad's Pumpkin Bread
   
2 2/3 c Sugar 3 1/2 c Flour
2 c Pumpkin 2/3 tsp Baking Soda
4 Eggs 2/3 c Shortening, melted
1/2 tsp Cloves 2 tsp Baking Powder
1 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon 1/3 c Nuts
   

Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour two 9 x 5 loaf pans.

Mix all ingredients and pour into loaf pans.

Bake 1 hour.

Cool slightly and take out of pans to let cool on a rack.

*Note: This tastes best if you wrap, refrigerate and wait a day to eat it.

It keeps well in the refrigerator and can be frozen.
